I had the pleasure of previewing the San Francisco Decorator Showcase this last Wednesday for Press Day.  The 35th San Francisco Decorator Showcase opens this Saturday, April 28th and will be open through May 28th.  It is located at 2020 Jackson Street (between Laguna and Octavia).  The house itself has quite a history behind it.  It was built in 1902 by Wells Fargo Bank President Isaias Hellman as a wedding gift for his daughter.  After the 1906 earthquake, it actually served as a temporary financial center.  The house has four levels consisting of 11,500 square feet.

One of my favorite rooms was Catherine Kwong's Fashion Blogger's Office.  Catherine's room would inspire any fashionista on a daily basis from the Hermes scarves placed in panels on the closet doors to the shelves filled with fashion books with a gorgeous inspiration board behind them.

Another favorite room was Brian Dittmar's Tailor Made Suit(e).  Brian was inspired by menswear which is very in fashion right now for women as well as in interior design. I loved all of the details from the fabric of the silk pillows that were reminiscent of ties to the herringbone carpet to the chenille wallpaper covered walls.

If you want to take a sneak peek inside a gorgeous house full of history, you should go check out the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.  There are more than 30 rooms that have been decorated in the house to inspire you and put you in awe.  What is even better is that the money raised from the admission prices benefits the San Francisco University High School's financial aid program.

A fun way to visit is Friday Nights at Showcase.  Every Friday from 5-6:30pm you can enjoy a glass of wine while you tour the house and you will have an opportunity to meet the designers and hear more about what inspired them.

*You must forgive my pictures - as I ran out of the house to take Landon to preschool and make it to the press event I mistakenly grabbed my 55-200mm lens instead of my 17-50mm! Needless to say, I could only back up so much to take a picture!
