Savvy Summer Camps - Galileo Innovation Camps

I can't believe that May is here already and it's time to start thinking about Summer Camp options for the kids. Last year, Landon was a Kindergartener and it was his first summer to experience Summer Camp.  I was overwhelmed with the choices of camps and it took me a while to go through them all and figure out which ones would be the best fit for Landon.

One of the four camps that I signed up Landon for last summer was Camp Galileo.  The reason I chose Camp Galileo was that I really connected with their mission statement, "To nurture and inspire a daring new generation of fearless innovators."  They combine art, science and outdoor activities with innovative themes that inspire collaboration and team building.

Landon had such a wonderful time last year at Camp Galileo that we were excited to get an opportunity to return this summer with four new themes: Adventures Down Under, The Incredible Human Body, Galileo Road Trip & Leonardo's Apprentice.  Each year they work with their curriculum partners at Klutz, The de Young Museum, The Tech Museum of Innovation and The Chabot Space & Science Center to come up with four new themes.

Landon is going to be attending the Galileo Road Trip theme where he will get to make eclectic art, build cars and other art and engineering projects inspired by Route 66.  Tatum is going to join him this year since she is starting Kindergarten in the Fall (sniff sniff).  Galileo has programs for kids age Pre-K to high school.

Our summer will be a mix of mommy led adventures, Summer Camp and a lot of pool time. What are your favorite camps or summer activities to do with the kids?

Cheers,
