Gallery Wall

Before
Laying them out on the floor to get an idea for design.
After

I have been wanting to put my pictures in frames since before Tatum was born! It has literally been on my to do list sitting next to my computer FOR OVER A YEAR! Finally I bit the bullet and started printing out some of the pictures that I wanted up on the walls. I love taking pictures! But then they get lost on my digital cemetery hard drive. I needed to print them out and see them. I wanted to soak up my bambinos' sweet moments that I had captured.  I also wanted to take our wall of US (Carlos and I) and turn it into a family collage wall. Yes, Carlos and I had a wedding, but guess what, we had two kids too. It wasn't just about us anymore and I thought maybe our walls should reflect that.

My friend Megan, told me that the key to a collage wall was not to line everything up evenly on the top. It would drive you crazy to try to line everything up perfectly spaced. I laid them out on the floor first to get an idea for how I wanted them up on the wall.  Then I took a picture and then placed them up there one at a time.   The perfection that I thought I needed to have was part of what was hindering me from starting the project. I love that nothing is evenly spaced and that everything is randomly placed up there. This wall makes me so happy, it makes Carlos happy and I think it makes the bambinos happy! Now, Landon doesn't ask me everyday when he points to our wedding photos, "Mommy, is that when you and Daddy were married?"  As if we are no longer married since he came along. But now he tells me that he likes the pictures of Tatum and himself with the pictures of Daddy and I when we were married.

Stop procrastinating and check something off your to do list today and make yourself happy!

  2. BB-You take such amazing pictures in my favorite city in the world that it would be a shame not to have them up all over your walls! Thanks for leaving a comment! - Savvy in SF
