Fabulous Find - Cocktail Time

If you remember when we first moved into our place, I was in search of a bar cart.  I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Society Social cart when I stumbled upon this Cynthia Rowley beauty at Home Goods!  I still ADORE the Society Social carts, but when I saw this piece and at a steal of a price, I couldn't pass it up.  I found it along with these fabulous Cynthia Rowley black and white chevron print with yellow wood chairs (that I didn't purchase and still have a pit in my stomach about).  I saved a bunch of money and I'm pretty happy with my decision.

Monday Mess - La La Lovely

Even though we have been moved in our new place for three months, there are still so many things to be done.  Boxes are still waiting in some rooms to be unpacked and little piles are starting to form where we haven't figured out how we are going to organize it yet. So, when Trina from La La Lovely asked me to guest post on her series, Monday Mess, I had to figure out WHICH of the MANY messes to share! 

I first met Trina back at ALT when we shared a car to the hotel.  I was shocked to find out that she had four kids (finally someone that had more kids than me).  Trina definitely make raising four kids look effortless and does it all while looking fabulous at the same time.  Jump on over to her blog today to find out about all of my messes and where I get a little inspiration and then have a lovely time perusing Trina's blog, it is truly lovely!

Gramercy & Co.

Ever since I attended the Junior League Home Tour in Sea Cliff (more on the home tour later this week), I have been dreaming about these boxes and trays from Gramercy & Co.  Pui the founder of Gramercy & Co. was one of the merchants who attended the street fair that went along with the home tour.

Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler

I've attended a couple of parties at the Jonathan Adler store in the last month and it has left me longing for some of his gorgeous pieces for my home.   I fell in love with some of his mugs at the last party, but I couldn't swallow the $18 price tag that went along with it.  

When a friend posted a Jonathan Adler pillow on Facebook recently, one of her friends mentioned Jonathan Adler had a line on HSN.  I decided to pop on over to the website and check out what they had.  Not only did they have some fun pieces in his Happy Chic collection, they were mostly on clearance!  The orange and turquoise mugs with the fun and happy patterns were only $6.  Not $6 for each one, but $6 for both! Needless to say I went a little crazy.  I bought the cute gold and silver salt & pepper shakers, turquoise blue bud bases, apple and pear tea cloths, white greek key diffusers and two of Jonathan's books.  The books are $18 on Amazon are only $4 on HSN.  

I love that all of these pieces will bring a little bit of fun color and happy chicness to my house!  Happy shopping!

Blooms

I was inspired by a post from Pine to the Pacific on her apartment tour and she had these gorgeous bloom graphics on her walls from Byrdie Graphics.  Before the baby comes I wanted to do a little room makeover to lighten and brighten up the space.  I had a hard time trying to decide between the gray or the turquoise and I decided to take a risk and go with the turquoise. I really liked how it turned out.  I took the pictures with my iPhone so they are not the best pictures, but it gives you the idea. You can see all of the my other purchases from Ikea and Home Goods being used together that helped me in my room transformation

Home Goods

All I read about on a bunch of design blogs is this store called Home Goods. I finally became envious of all of their deals and finds that they were bringing home and decided to go check it out myself. We only have a few in the Bay Area - the closest three to San Francisco were San Carlos, Moraga and Vacaville. I decided to make the trek over the Bay Bridge to go check out the one in Moraga. I figured I could multi-task and stop in downtown SF on the way back so we could have coffee with Carlos. I absolutely loved the place and wanted to go crazy there but restrained myself to just a couple of items. We are currently in the process of weeding out unnecessary items in our house and didn't want to bring extra items home to defeat the purpose. Once we have done the filtering out process maybe then I can treat myself to some fun new treats for the house. The only way I can describe Home Goods is that it is similar to TJ Maxx's home section but times ten! They had such fun accent chairs, adorable lamps, huge floor rugs and gigantic mirrors. I bought the first three items along with some other necessities and thought the oversized chair was adorable for $299! The dress form that I bought was only $19.99 and a perfect item for me to hang all of my long necklaces on. I have been searching for something to hang them on without putting holes in my wall to do so. They have been getting into a tangled mess in my jewelry armoir and I needed a new place to put them. I think this dress form is very fun! I needed a new oven mitt and this set was only $5.99 and I love the print. I have also been needing new towels for our guest bathroom and these Calvin Klein towels were a steal at $7.99 a piece. I can't wait to go back after we are done weeding out all the extra items, so I can buy a couple fun new pieces to spruce up the place.

High Gloss & Matchbook Magazines

As if I didn't have enough distractions in my life, there are two new adorable digital magazines that just put out their premier issues in the last week, High Gloss and Matchbook.

It is strange how hard it has become for me to pick up a real magazine these days.  I order them, they stack up and then they get piled into our coffee table to die. If Carlos asks, YES, I am going to read them some day soon. It just seems easier to checkout a magazine online while I am surfing around on my computer and distracting myself from everything else that I am supposed to be doing.  This should make Carlos really happy that there are more and more digital magazines popping up and hopefully that will mean my subscriptions that come via snail mail will come to a halt. If you have an iPad, there is a fun FREE app called Zinio, where you can subscribe to your favorite magazines, Elle, Living, Rolling Stone and you can even get your weekly smut update via US Weekly. You can also download Zinio onto your iPhone or your desktop. Some people like to physically hold their magazines, but I for one am interested in decluttering my life with all this excess stuff that is swallowing up our house!

Kate Spade Coasters

I was reading Alaina's blog, Live Creating Yourself, and she was talking about the Rue Magazine West Coast launch party at Kate Spade in Corte Madera. She took these pictures at that party and I fell in love with the Kate Spade polka-dot coasters. I went there a couple days later and purchased the actual set in the picture (since that was their last set). They were only $20 and then I got an additional 25% off with friends and family. They don't carry the set from the first picture online anymore, but they are selling the gold polka-dot ones. I think that they are a nice way to add a splash of color and fun to your dinner parties for $20!
