InstaMaui

We have been having an amazing time in Maui!  If you don't follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, here are some of the pictures I've captured on my iPhone.  I can't believe we have to go home in three days.  Can't we just stay for a month?

I'm linked up over at Life Rearranged for Insta-Friday!

Cheers to the Weekend

Cheers to the weekend!  We are so excited that our vacation is finally here!  We are over enjoying family time in Maui and couldn't be more excited to have some quality time with Daddy (though we all seem to be fighting over him for his attention).  We are soaking up this warm beautiful Hawaiian weather and loving the endless sunsets.  Even though I'm on vacation soaking up our last couple of weeks of summer (why does school start so early), I'm still hoping to share some things with you next week.
  • Can't wait to share pictures and details with you about our magical night at Meadowood a couple of Sundays ago with Festival del Sole
  • Also need to share my trip to the beautiful Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley!
  • Thinking about switching from blogger to WordPress - what are your thoughts on WP?
  • What are your plans for the final weeks of summer?
Cheers,

Comfortable in my own skin

We are trying to get adjusted back to our routine now that we are back from Maui.  (It's really hard to adjust to that three hour time difference).  At least school doesn't start for another week and a half so we have some time to adjust.  I have a lot of pictures to share with you from our Maui trip, but I wanted to share a little revelation I had while in Maui.  Maybe not so much a revelation, but more of a comfort level.

In the past, when we have gone to Maui, I've been so self conscious of how I have looked in my bathing suit while on the beach.  Is everyone staring at the baby weight I need to lose? My pale skin? Humidity ravaged curls?  But this time was different.  I was sitting on the beach letting the waves come up and lap at Charlotte and I and I've never felt so comfortable.  I looked out at the water and watched Landon, Tatum and Carlos run around in the waves and was so incredibly happy.  I didn't care who could see my extra 25 lbs of baby weight that I need to lose, the new wrinkles that are forming as I turn another year older or my wind and humidity ravaged curls.  I just cared that I was 100% present in this moment, this experience that we were all having and that was all I needed.

Now that I am home, I wish I could say the same thing.  The old insecurities and pressure we put on ourselves is slowly creeping back in, but I am happy that for eight days in Maui, I was able to let go of all that and enjoy being me!  Need to work on being that comfortable in my own skin all the time!

Maui in a Picture

Charlotte sitting on my lap on the beach in Kaanapali watching the sunset!
This picture pretty much sums up how I feel about our trip to Maui!  It's been a relaxing trip of being together and enjoying the beach!

Cheers to the Weekend

Would you like a cocktail?
Let me pick one out for you!
This is the first Friday in a long time that I haven't been glad that it came so quickly! We only have two full days left in Maui and then we are heading back to reality home on Monday.  Our plans for the weekend - just hang out at the pool and the beach all day.  I might try to slip away for a massage at the Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea.  What are you all up to this weekend?

Enjoying the Island Life

Time is going by so fast!  I can't believe that it is already Thursday.  Today we headed down to the beach on the earlier side to play in the ocean and then we headed to Mama's Fish House for an amazing lunch.  Writing a quick blog post while I sit on the lanai and watch the sunset before Carlos and I head to the Four Seasons to have a date night at Spago!  Why do we have to leave?  Oh that's right....we are not independently wealthy....time to start playing the lotto!

Exploring Maui

We have been busy exploring Maui since we arrived on Sunday!  We just love it here.   It's a whole new kind of relaxed!

Aloha to the Weekend

This is our exact view for the next nine days!
Hoping to spend a lot of time at the pool right next to the beach!
Also a lot of time on the beach!
Looking forward to a couple of date nights (thanks Mimi & Papa) with Carlos watching the sun go down.
TGIF!  This has been a long week!  It's been about closing chapters and starting new ones.  Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm trying to be positive and embrace change with grace.  Then on Sunday we are headed to Maui for 9 days!  I can't be anymore ready for a tropical vacation with the family.  I'm excited to be able to have Carlos to ourselves for 10 straight days.  These are pictures that we took from our trip two years ago in Maui.  We were not able to go last year since Charlotte was so little, so it's been a long time coming.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Aloha! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter if you are craving a virtual tropical escape!

CLEARly it's time for a vacation!

I can't believe that it is the end of June already - summer seems to be slipping away so quickly.  Even though I would like it to slow down and last a lot longer than it seems to be, I am anxious to get to the end of July.  We are headed to Maui for a much needed BEACH vacation!  We usually try to go to Maui once a year at the end of summer, but we were not able to go last year since Charlotte was only a couple of months old.  Maui is not as fun if you are waking up every three hours to breastfeed an infant.

The only downside to a tropical vacation with three kids in tow, is having to deal with getting through airport security and trying to entertain the three of them on a five hour plane ride.  Before having kids I didn't even pay attention to how parents got through security with their kids.  I remember the first time going through security with Landon in the airport.  You want me to what?  Take him out of his car seat and stroller?  Fold up his stroller that is carrying every single item we need to maintain this little life form and put it all on the conveyor belt? WHAT?  It was definitely a rude awakening and we have finally mastered the process with all three kids - but it definitely is a juggling act.

So when I heard that CLEAR had opened at SFO along with Dallas, Denver and Orlando, I was excited by the thought of not having to wait in a long security cue with all three bambinos pulling on my leg!  To be able to possibly save 10 to 20 minutes of not having to wait in a line with three bored kids could definitely be a blessing.  All you have to do is go the CLEARcard kiosk (where I have never seen a line), verify your biometric information and then you get whisked into airport security.  The best part about having the CLEARcard is that it covers your children under eighteen traveling with you for free! Yes please times three!

CLEAR has given me one (one-year membership) CLEARcard to giveaway to one of my lucky jetset readers! To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below sharing your favorite travel tip (you can have  one additional entry for each item that you do down below - leave a separate comment for each entry):
