Savvy Baubles: Rocksbox

I have been a Rocksbox member for two and a half years, since they started.  I knew when I hear about them, a monthly jewelry rental service, I was in love!  I might have a slight jewelry addiction (along with beauty, clothes and shoes).

Rocksbox is like Netflix for jewelry.  You are sent three curated pieces that you can borrow for 2 months time (you can do less time or you can do the two full months depending on how often you want to update your pieces).  The fee is $19 a month and you always have the option to purchase one of your pieces at a 20% off discount rate or you can choose to send all three items back.

Rocksbox is the perfect solution for a jewelry junkie like me.  It lets me play with new stuff without adding too many items to my overstocked selection.  You all know how you can get bored with your old stuff and crave a new piece to play with - Rocksbox helps you curb that craving!

I'm partnering with Rocksbox and for the next 30 days, Savvy in San Francisco readers get one month for FREE to try out their service.  After 30 days, the code will then give my readers 50% off their first month.  So if any of you have been wanting to try Rocksbox, now is the time!  The code is savvyinsfxoxo.

What do you think of my newest pieces that they sent me?

Happy shopping!

Cheers,

It's our last day in San Diego and they we are going to make the dreaded drive back to the Bay Area!  Maybe they will just sleep the whole way (a girl can dream, right)?  Today we are headed out to enjoy this warmer weather (finally) while checking out the lighthouse and tide pools at Point Loma, Coronado Island for lunch and maybe the USS Midway to check out the retired Navy aircraft carrier.

The Love Knot - Valentine's Day Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago, I was at a trunk show for Natasha Grasso.  She is a local San Francisco jewelry designer who creates handmade pieces that are unique and classic.  I fell in love with her Love Knot necklace, not only for it's uniqueness and delicateness, but for the story that represents the piece (see card above).  Plus, she had it in rose gold, which I'm currently obsessed with!

I thought it would only be appropriate to partner with Natasha for this giveaway on Valentine's Day, since it is for the Love Knot necklace (appropriate, right)?  She will be gifting one Love Knot necklace to one of my lucky Savvy in San Francisco readers!

All you have to do to enter is go to the Natasha Grasso website and take a look around.  Then come back over here and let me know in the comments what your favorite piece is.  The giveaway will close next Thursday.  For additional entries, see the Rafflecopter widget below!

*This giveaway is for United States residents only.  I purchased The Love Knot necklace from Natasha Grasso and my opinions are my own.

Cheers to the Weekend

(Jacket & top from StitchFix, Lucas Jack Earrings & Ted Rossi Bracelet from RocksboxCole Haan Booties (similar here and here), clutch from Florence, Italy)

Cheers!  A little late to get this out, but better late than never!  This has been a very busy week and I'm so glad that the weekend is here.  The weekend is packed as well, but it makes it so much easier when I have Carlos by my side to take it head on.

I took this picture at the Neiman Marcus Spring Trend preview event at the Rotunda Room this week.  It gives you a glimpse an update on my New Years Resolutions!  I've lost 20 pounds for project lose baby weight and I'm starting to really feel it.  I'm feeling great and happy that I'm more than half way to my goal.  I've been trying to be consistent about hitting the gym at least three times a week, juicing and eating a lot of whole foods (less processedhigher in protein and lowering my carb intake) and it's been working pretty well!  Hopefully just another 1.5 to 2 months until I hit my goal!

I had a fabulous time on Monday when I received a cooking lesson by Kitchit over at Erin's loft.  It was for a fun and delicious Valentines Day Dinner idea with Caitlin and Courtney.  Be sure to check out Erin's post on it and I will hopefully have some more pictures to share with you as well from the lesson.  This was the second time ever that I tried oysters (I know....I live so close to Tomales Bay, how can I not like oysters) and I actually liked them with mignonette sauce!

Last night Carlos and I snuck in a little date night at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, Frascati, followed by cocktails at La Folie Lounge.  Today is filled with a ballet lesson, trip to the farmer's market, visiting a friends new house and a birthday party.  Tomorrow I'm hopefully getting a trip to the gym in and then following it with a brunch with some fabulous ladies!

What are you up to this weekend?

Cheers,

DIY - My Brika Washer & Ribbon Necklace

My completed DIY necklace!
Caitlin helping me finish my necklace!
Tutorial and image from Nestled Blog
Last month I mentioned that Brika had a couple of DIY crafts for us to do at their launch party.  I wanted to share the tutorial with you on the blog, since it is fairly easy and it looks pretty fabulous!  I went searching for the DIY on Pinterest of course and I found Nestled's tutorial.  You can choose whatever color ribbon you would like and then you could choose what size washer you want to use.  Looking around on Pinterest I've also seen people paint their washers another color.

Any fabulous DIY projects that you have completed lately that you want to share with me?  I would love to see them!

Happy crafting!

RocksBox

I just discovered a new company in San Francisco through Mallory of MPress that I am totally obsessed with.  RocksBox is a membership-based jewelry service that could best be described as a cross between Birchbox, StitchFix and Netflix.  You first create a personalized style profile to best describe your jewelry style.  Based on that profile, RocksBox sends you three jewelry items for you to borrow for up to 60 days.  After those 60 days you can either purchase any of those items for a discounted price or return them all for three new pieces!

I don't know about all of you, but I have a tiny bit of a jewelry obsession, so this service could be a life saver to my budget!  I am notorious for buying pieces and then getting bored with them after a couple of months.  Insert RocksBox at $19/month and I can see my jewelry fix being satisfied without having to commit ($) to three new pieces every couple of months.  GENIUS!  I'm just jealous that I didn't think of this first!  I am definitely going to keep the earrings and I'm debating about keeping the necklace.  But what is great is that I have two months before I have to make a decision.

Right now Rocksbox is offering a free trial month to Savvy in San Francisco readers!  Go to their website to complete a style profile and use the code savvyinsf at checkout to receive your first trial month.  You can cancel your membership at anytime!

Happy shopping!

Cheers,

If you happen to be in San Anselmo (Marin) in the next couple of hours, make sure you stop by Rikshaw Design and Margaret Elizabeth's sample sale!  It's going on until 7pm.  Look at my fabulous scores from the sale!  I love all of Rikshaw Design's fabulous prints and adore my new Margaret Elizabeth lapis earrings.   If you are not able to stop by the sale, they are both having summer sales online!

Currently Craving: Yellow

Z Gallerie Ottavio Vase
Z Gallerie Geo Bedding
J.Crew Quorra Ballet Flats
Kate Spade Treasure Chest Statement Necklace
My recent yellow purchases from West Elm & Target.
Is it possible to want to change your color scheme in your kitchen because you fell in love with one striped bowl?  I saw these bowls at West Elm (they are currently ON SALE) and ever since I've been having a slight love affair with yellow.  I have always loved yellow accessories for that fun pop of color to an outfit.  Now I want to take that pop of color and insert it into my new home.  I want to buy pops of yellow for the kitchen, living room and possibly that gray and yellow combo up above from Z Gallerie for my bedroom.  Yellow is such a happy and cheerful color and just what you need to start your day off with a little bit of sunshine to get you going!

What color does that for you?

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! My brother is getting married tomorrow and I am excited to play with my borrowed Nikon 85mm 1.4G lens from Borrowlenses.com.  Anxious to see if it is worth the hefty price tag that comes along with it.  Then we will be packing for the rest of the weekend and hopefully getting the keys to the new place on Sunday!!!

After Christmas Sales {Kate Spade, Zara, JCrew & Madewell}

There are some amazing sales that happened before Christmas that make it hard for me to focus on the task at hand (shopping for others and ignoring the fabulous sale prices on all the things I am loving)!  But if you hold out, the sales get even better after Christmas!!

Carlos has had this week off between Christmas and New Years and we have been able to do some fun activities with the bambinos (Discovery Museum and Zoo).  So, yesterday, Carlos and I had a very RARE day date without the kids!  We had lunch at Bun Mee, hit up some of the fabulous sales at Kate Spade (40% off certain items), Nordstrom (Men's Half Yearly Sale), Zara (practically the entire store is on sale), JCrew (additional 30% off women's sale items) and Madewell (additional 30% off sale items), pre-dinner drink at Spruce and then dinner at Chapeau (where we had our very first date over nine years ago - will blog more about Chapeau later).

Above are some of my scores from our shopping extravaganza (Carlos got a pair of shoes at Nordstrom - but I figured you didn't need to see those).  The tote and clutch from Zara I had been eyeing for awhile and was excited to get them both on sale. I exchanged a larger tote at Kate Spade that I got for Christmas and was able to get the black tote plus the earrings and bracelet I had been wanting!  Love the bright blue sequin and brown crew neck sweater I bought at JCrew at 30%off.  The snood (because can you ever have enough snoods) from Madewell was a steal at $14.  I definitely have to say that shopping is a WHOLE LOT EASIER without three kids in tow!  It was a really fun day date for us!

Is everyone getting ready for New Years Eve? What are your plans for NYE?

Neiman Marcus - Murder Mystery with Stephen Webster

Jes, Carina, Lindsay, Jeanne, Stephen Webster, Amber, Elizabeth and me (was adjusting clutch and not smiling - BOO)
Elizabeth, Jeanne, Lindsay & Carina

Jeanne's gorgeous black suede boots with gold leather down the back!
Amber's fabulous yellow plaid jacket with faux fur collar.
Amber was feeling like a star!
I was invited to a fabulous event that Neiman Marcus hosted for the debut of Stephen Webster's new Murder She Wrote collection.  The event was held in the Rotunda Room and included many fellow bloggers and other fellow Neimanites.

To go along with the collection it was a murder mystery party with a handful of who done it models that all had clues to who had murdered the very handsome gentleman with a Christian Louboutin sticking out of his chest! As usual, the food and cocktails from the Rotunda room were delicious (must go back soon to have their popovers and strawberry butter).

Stephen has boutiques all over the world and has bejeweled Madonna, Kate Moss, Sir Elton John, Anne Hathaway and Kate Beckinsdale to name just a few celebrities that are fans of his work.  Stephen's pieces were recently featured in December issues of Vogue and Marie Claire.
