Savvy Shopping: Serena & Lily Outlet in Berkeley

For all of my Bay Area friends, Serena & Lily, has opened up a pop-up outlet for the holidays that is open now until December 8th.  It's perfect timing if you are looking for any fabulous home items that you need to pick up for all of your design lovers in your life or for yourself for the holidays.

They are offering samples and items that might have dents or dings.  All hard goods, bedding and decorative accessories are at least 40% off their original price.  Upholstery items are at least 30% off. There are plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces at great prices.  Make sure that you really love it though because all sales are final!

The location is in Berkeley:

1360 Tenth Street (off Gilman) (1330 if you ask Google Maps)
Berkeley, CA

Hours:

OPEN: Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm
CLOSED: Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday

Happy bargain shopping!

Cheers,

Savvy Events: Jouer & Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show

One of my favorite cosmetics brands, Jouer Cosmetics, is coming to the Bay Area this Saturday.  They will be at Nordstrom in the Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek from 10:30am to 5:00pm on Saturday, April 12th.

They will be taking appointments for complimentary makeovers by Jouer stylists, having some fun with a photo booth and giving out free gifts.

The best part is that Christina Zilber, the Founder and Creative Director of Jouer, will be there.  She is quite an inspirational woman and it's great to be able to talk to the woman behind the brand.

On top of all the fun, Jouer is offering my readers an exclusive gift for anyone that mentions Savvy in San Francisco when you book your appointment!  Let me know if you are going to attend.

Hope you are all having a beautiful day!

Come Meet AnaMaria Pimentel at Neiman Marcus

Hey Bay Area fashionistas, come out to Neiman Marcus in Walnut Creek on Wednesday, May 15th from 1-3pm to meet Neiman Marcus' Fashion Director for Accessories, AnaMaria Pimentel, in person.  She will be there to answer all of your questions about what accessories are so right now for Spring/Summer, but also what she has seen at all of the fashion shows for Fall!

AnaMaria Pimentel began her career in fashion as an intern at Elle magazine under the mentorship of then-editor Nina Garcia, who Pimentel considers her role model to this day.  She worked her way up to Senior Accessories Editor, later crossing over to media relations for Van Cleef & Arpels.  She then traversed back to the editorial space, landing a job at Harper's Bazaar as Accessories Director, before joining Neiman Marcus in March 2012, where she hones trends into stylish, wearable looks for customers.

Who will be there?

Baby J - Newborn Photoshoot {Bay Area Photographer}

I just realized that I have not posted a half dozen of my photoshoots and I needed to get back in the habit of sharing them with you!  This is a good friend's family that welcomed this sweet bundle of cuteness into their family back in August.

Cheers,

Come Out and Play with Jouer

One of my favorite makeup brands, Jouer Cosmetics, is having a beauty trend show this Saturday at Nordstrom in Walnut Creek.  They will be there all day giving complimentary beauty applications by Jouer stylists who will be showing you how to enjoy pops of pink for Spring.  Christina Zilber, Founder and Creative Director of Jouer Cosmetics, will be at Nordstrom at 8am for a personal appearance.  I will be there in the afternoon to check out all of their newest products with a couple of my girlfriends (making a girls day out of it - shopping, makeup and sushi).  Be sure to RSVP if you would like to make an appointment with a stylist! Come out and PLAY!

Hope to see you there!

What's Your Signature Scent?

Do you have a signature scent? Mine is constantly changing, so I'm always looking for new fragrances.  My most recent scent obsession is with L'Atelier Cologne!  I was introduced to them through a sample of Vanille Insensee in my Birchbox and then was able to sample the entire collection at Neiman Marcus.  I recently added the Grand Neroli to my signature scent stash.  What is your favorite fragrance?  Are you more floral, woodsy, warm or citrus type of gal?

If you need to restock your favorite scent or are in the market for a new signature scent or looking to buy one for someone special for the holidays, then you should head over to Neiman Marcus during their Scent Event.  The Scent Event starts tomorrow and goes for the entire week.  When you purchase your new fragrance you get this adorable pewter clutch (who doesn't need a fun new clutch for the holidays) filled with samples of some fabulous fragrances.

Happy shopping!

Runway to Reality - Badgley & Mischka

Linsey bought the ruffled metallic cocktail dress "off the runway".
Last weekend I had the honor of attending the Badgley Mischka fashion show and cocktail party at Neiman Marcus in Walnut Creek with two of my girlfriends!  I was able to meet and chat Mark & James after the show (more pictures from the fashion show to come).

In the meantime I wanted to share one of their fabulous dresses from their Mark & James collection (their collection designed for a younger sophisticated customer at a more affordable price point).

My bestie, Linsey, ended up trying on this dress after the fashion show and it looked amazing on her.  It was definitely one of the favorite cocktail dresses of the night since nine out of ten of the dresses in stock were sold after the event!  I told Linsey now we have to go somewhere fabulous over the holidays so she can rock her cocktail dress!

Do you have a favorite designer that you turn to when you need a cocktail dress for a fun event?

Cheers to the Weekend

I was just at Nordstrom and found these in the kids shoe section! STOP IT!  The perfect way to start your littlest one's addiction to shoes!  Doesn't every girl deserve her first pair of shoes to be Stuart Weitzman

This weekend is kind of a mellow weekend - which I am really looking forward to.  Landon has his soccer practice on Saturday and I have a family photo shoot in the Presidio on Sunday.  But other than that, we don't have any obligations.  Sometimes it's nice to have a low key weekend ahead of you!

Next week is a pretty busy week with a lot of fun events to attend!  I'm beyond thrilled to be interviewing Trina Turk in person next week!  She is going to be at Neiman Marcus in Walnut Creek showing her Fall Collection 2012 and previewing her holiday collection from 2-3pm on Thursday, September 20th.  Any questions that you would like me to ask her when I interview her?  Let me know!

What are your plans for the weekend? Busy or low-key? '

P.S. I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 last night at midnight!!!!!! The photographer in me has been patiently waiting for this new release to replace my iPhone 4 with it's lackluster camera. EXCITED!!! Anyone else order the iPhone 5?

CHEERS!

Jouer - Time to Play

I was excited when I received an invitation to come meet Christina Zilber, Founder and Creative Director of Jouer Cosmetics, and to get a sneak peek of what's to come for their line.  I was already a fan of Jouer when I was introduced to them through Birchbox.  I loved their moisturizing lip gloss and their lip enhancer, but was not familiar with any of their other products.

Christina said she developed Jouer (which means to play in French) in hopes that people would have fun with their makeup. Their luminizing moisture tint won an Allure Best of Beauty award and is one of their most popular products.  My favorite part about their makeup is that you can customize your own makeup palette.  How many times do you buy a makeup palette, but don't use one or two of the colors that are included?  Most of their makeup can slide and snap together.  It allows you to choose what and how many items you want to put together in your palette.

Since I was headed to Maui last week, Jouer was nice enough to send me some of their favorite SPF products to help give me a sun kissed look while protecting my skin and lips with SPF 39.  It's nice to find some beauty products that contain a high SPF and rich botanicals that are also good for your skin and lips.

Jouer is available online or at Henri Bendel, but recently launched their line in select Nordstrom stores (closest in the Bay Area is Walnut Creek) and on Nordstrom.com.

How do you Jouer?
