Waterlogue Watercolor iPhone App

I just found out about the Waterlogue app on Thursday and now I'm officially obsessed with it.  It takes any of your pictures and turns them into a watercolor painting.  As you can tell, I've tried it out on a "couple" of photos.  It might have to be taken away from me because I want to Waterlogue everything!  I'm going to try to order a couple of these as prints or canvases to see how they come out.  I will let you know how they come out.

So go forth and Waterlogue to your heart's content!

Cheers,

Family Pictures

In November we did a mini photoshoot with Melanie Duerkopp for our annual family pictures.  We met her over at the Ferry Building for the shoot and ended up stumbling upon the SF Railway Museum. The trolleys were the perfect backdrop and the kids loved playing on them.

Trying to Find Balance

Tatum with two of her girlfriends. They have no idea how lucky they are to live in such a beautiful place!
I hope everyone had an amazing weekend.  Mine was packed full of family time, a fun date night in Napa with Carlos and a pretty fabulous spa day at Nob Hill Spa with some of my besties.

Things have been a little crazy over here at Savvy in San Francisco and I wanted to thank you for all hanging in with me while I figure things out and let some things settle down.  I wanted to share with you what has been keeping me busy and less attentive to the blog.

With the holidays rapidly approaching (how did that happen), I have been busy with family photoshoots.  Photography has been a top priority to ensure everyone can get their pictures in time to order their holiday cards.

Brands have been kicking the events into overdrive because of the holidays and I've been trying to be better about not filling my entire week with events.  But sometimes it's really hard to turn down some of these fun evenings.

Specifically related to the blog, I've been working on two exciting things. One - Savvy in San Francisco is moving from Blogger to Wordpress.  Two - the blog is getting a redesign.  I'm combining my blog and photography site into one place.  I can't wait to share the redesign with you!  While we are talking about it - anything you would like to see more of on the new site? Features, etc.?

Most importantly, my three children have been keeping me busy, as they should be!  It's always a constant internal struggle with myself on whether I am giving them enough of me and balancing all of my priorities out in the right way.  But, I think that is something that every parent struggles with on a daily basis.

Anyone have any fabulous tips/tricks on finding balance?

Thank you for being patient with me and I hope to bring you a much more new and improved Savvy in San Francisco soon!

Cheers,

Tasty Treats - Lucy Garden Lunch

Cocktail demonstration with Lucy Mixologist, Brady Wilkens.
A fig cocktail.
Hotel Bardessono's rooftop pool has amazing views.
I loved all of the products they carried in their spa store including my own love knot necklace from local designer, Natasha Grosso and these amazing wood watches from WEWOOD.
Executive Chef Victor Scargle gave us a personal tour of his kitchen and Lucy's garden where they find the inspiration for that day's menu.
The Lucy Garden Table situated right in the middle of the garden.
Lucy Wine Sommelier, Anani Lawson, sharing details about the wines he was pairing with our garden tasting menu.
I was excited to be invited to one of Yountville's top getaway spots, Bardessono, for a media lunch at their restaurant, Lucy. Bardessono is a Leed Platinum Certified Hotel located in the Napa Wine Country.

When we first arrived at Bardessono, we were first treated to a seasonal specialty fig cocktail, made for us by their resident mixologist, Brady Wilkens from Lucy Restaurant.  With cocktail in hand we were given a tour of the hotel property including the rooftop pool (where I could spend hours), spa store and their beautifully designed hotel rooms.

We then were given a tour of the Lucy garden by Executive Chef Victor Scargle.  Victor and his staff go out to the garden everyday to see what is fresh to inspire them for the menu that day.

Next we sat down at a gorgeous communal table situated in the middle of Lucy's gardens.  We enjoyed a leisurely multi-course meal where every other person had a variety of different courses in order for us to sample all of the dishes that Lucy had to offer.  Lucy's wine sommelier, Anani Lawson, came to share with us all of his wine pairings for the lunch.  He shared two of his favorite local wineries to visit (though he said the list could go on forever) - Chase Cellars for their Zinfandel & Falla Wines for their Pinot Noir.

You can book the Lucy garden table in the Spring, Summer and Early Fall which includes a chef-led tour of their garden, a specialty cocktail prepared by their mixologist and then a multi-course meal at their communal garden table.

Thank you to Bardessono & Lucy for a delicious meal and a truly relaxing day in the wine country!

Cheers,

Cheers to the Weekend - Trick or Treat

How is today November 1st?  Where did October go?  Where did 2013 go?  It's all going by so fast.  I hope everyone had wonderful Halloweens and there were more treats than tricks!  We had a fun and exhausting Halloween.  It was precious to watch trick or treating click in Charlotte's head and she became a pro at it!  She was practically knocking Landon and Tatum down to get to the front doors - it was adorable!

This weekend is packed full of holiday photoshoots!  I'm doing one tomorrow in the San Francisco Botanical Gardens and we are having our own done on Sunday at the Ferry Building.

What are you all up to this weekend? Any special Fall weekend plans?

Cheers,
