Savvy Finds

Remember all of these cute paper goods items that I found in the dollar section at Target on Monday?  I bought the wood clips, but wasn't sure what I would use them for until I saw Hilary's post on Instagram.
Now I want to go back to buy more and put them all over the house! So many Polaroids and postalpix to display!
Cheers,

Fabulous Find - Cocktail Time

If you remember when we first moved into our place, I was in search of a bar cart.  I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Society Social cart when I stumbled upon this Cynthia Rowley beauty at Home Goods!  I still ADORE the Society Social carts, but when I saw this piece and at a steal of a price, I couldn't pass it up.  I found it along with these fabulous Cynthia Rowley black and white chevron print with yellow wood chairs (that I didn't purchase and still have a pit in my stomach about).  I saved a bunch of money and I'm pretty happy with my decision.

What do you guys think?

Lily and Serena of Serena and Lily!
I had the honor of attending Serena and Lily's Toast to Summer party at LILY's house (I was a little starstruck) last week! They wanted to introduce their outdoor, bedding and bath collections for the summer and what a better way to do it than at Lily's house showcasing all of their fabulous collection.

I have always been a fan of Serena and Lily's amazing patterns and fabric choices.  But I have also been in awe of these two amazing women that had a vision and got together to build this fabulous and successful company.  It's been exciting to see them build it from a baby bedding collection to what it is now today!

Take a sneak peek of the party at Lily's house with all of the fabulous pieces from the outdoor, bedding and bath collections for summer.  As you can see from the pictures, Lily's house is gorgeous, just as you would expect!  If you hurry, you can get an additional 20% off anything you order through the end of today, Tuesday, May 29th!!

Happy shopping!

Loving Lately - Bar Carts

South Seas Bar Cart by Serena & Lily

The Tipple Trolley (I would get it in gold, yellow or turquoise) by Society Social
The house is really starting to come together (still a lot of boxes but we are getting there).  One of the two big items left on my list is a chest of drawers to put at the top of the stairwell, to prevent curious little ones from looking and consequently falling over the railing.  The other is a bar cart for our a corner that lies between our living room and our dining room.  I have been trying to find a bar cart at the Alameda Flea Market, but haven't been so lucky yet.  I was looking at some of the other options out there (Serena & Lily and Society Social), if I didn't go the antique route. What do you think of these choices? Any other fabulous ideas out there for me?

P.S. Hoping to start shooting the new house room by room, so I can share it with you soon!

I had the pleasure of previewing the San Francisco Decorator Showcase this last Wednesday for Press Day.  The 35th San Francisco Decorator Showcase opens this Saturday, April 28th and will be open through May 28th.  It is located at 2020 Jackson Street (between Laguna and Octavia).  The house itself has quite a history behind it.  It was built in 1902 by Wells Fargo Bank President Isaias Hellman as a wedding gift for his daughter.  After the 1906 earthquake, it actually served as a temporary financial center.  The house has four levels consisting of 11,500 square feet.

One of my favorite rooms was Catherine Kwong's Fashion Blogger's Office.  Catherine's room would inspire any fashionista on a daily basis from the Hermes scarves placed in panels on the closet doors to the shelves filled with fashion books with a gorgeous inspiration board behind them.

Another favorite room was Brian Dittmar's Tailor Made Suit(e).  Brian was inspired by menswear which is very in fashion right now for women as well as in interior design. I loved all of the details from the fabric of the silk pillows that were reminiscent of ties to the herringbone carpet to the chenille wallpaper covered walls.

If you want to take a sneak peek inside a gorgeous house full of history, you should go check out the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.  There are more than 30 rooms that have been decorated in the house to inspire you and put you in awe.  What is even better is that the money raised from the admission prices benefits the San Francisco University High School's financial aid program.

A fun way to visit is Friday Nights at Showcase.  Every Friday from 5-6:30pm you can enjoy a glass of wine while you tour the house and you will have an opportunity to meet the designers and hear more about what inspired them.

*You must forgive my pictures - as I ran out of the house to take Landon to preschool and make it to the press event I mistakenly grabbed my 55-200mm lens instead of my 17-50mm! Needless to say, I could only back up so much to take a picture!
