Savvy Books: The Dress - 100 Iconic Moments in Fashion

I stumbled upon Megan Hess' instagram account and fell in love with her illustrations.  When I found out that she had a couple of books out, I knew that I needed to have one of them.  The Dress - 100 Iconic Moments in Fashion is a perfect addition to my desk.

The book is beautifully illustrated with iconic dresses and is broken out into six sections: Designers, Icons, Weddings, Music, Film and Oscars.  In the book each dress has a beautiful illustration and then a paragraph on the designer, the dress and in some cases who wore the dress.

The Dress is a perfect holiday gift for all of those fashionistas that are looking for a fabulous coffee table or pretty addition and inspiration to your desk.

Savvy Style: Littles

I seem to have two mini fashionistas in training over  here, so I thought I would start sharing their outfits as well on the blog.  I happen to LOVE this outfit on Tatum and would love to have this star shirt from Target in my size!

Savvy Style - Neve/Hawk

The girls are rocking their new Neve/Hawk Saluda dresses!  The top is made of a super soft sherpa fabric and the girls adore the pockets in the skirt of the dress. Is there anything better than pockets in a dress?   No, the answer is no!  If you remember I shot pictures for Neve/Hawks fall collection and we have been fans ever since. Not only are they this amazing wife & husband team, but they make everything here in the United States.  Another reason I love them is that they donate a portion of their profits to help keep the arts in public schools.  They call it the Fight for Creativity!

Neve/Hawk Photoshoot {San Francisco Photographer}

I had the privilege of shooting some of Neve & Hawk's Fall and Winter collection that launched on their website a couple of weeks ago.  Not only did I get to shoot Kris' adorable children, but you might recognize some of the other models we used for the shoot.  Charlotte definitely won the award for super model in training! She didn't protest one bit and was excited to try on each new outfit without any complaining.  We might have a little model in training!

Go check out Neve & Hawk's newest Fall and Winter Collection here!

Summer Loving - Tsubo Tehina Wedges

As you already know, I'm obsessed with everything yellow, so when Tsubo offered to send me their stylish Tehina wedges, I was thrilled! Not only are these wedges stylish and chic, but they are extremely comfortable.  A couple of weeks ago, Carlos and I went wine tasting in Sonoma and Napa.  I wanted to be cute, but comfortable for a day of wine tasting. I paired the Tsubo wedges (c/o Tsubo) with some skinny jeans, t-shirt and my new Coach bag.

Cheers to the Weekend

Dress/Jacket/Similar Style Heel/Bag/Necklace
Cheers to the weekend!  I couldn't be happier that the weekend is finally here.  Carlos has been gone all week and gets home late tonight.  The week has been jam packed with Savvy in San Francisco events and school performances and I've missed my partner in crime.

On Wednesday, I went out to the Neiman Marcus Walnut Creek Spring/Summer fashion show event with AnaMaria Pimentel.  She gave us a nice sample of whats hot for this summer and even glimpses of what was on the fall fashion show runways.   Here is a sneak peek from the fashion show with an outfit with pops of cool blues!  More to come from the fashion show next week!

This weekend I have a 1st birthday photoshoot, two birthday parties and on Sunday I will be spending the day up in the Dry Creek wine country.  We will be tasting wine around Dry Creek, enjoying Aromatics & Blending Seminars and having lunch and dinner in the vineyards.  Be sure to follow me on twitter or instagram to get sneak peeks at the different wineries we visit!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Come Meet AnaMaria Pimentel at Neiman Marcus

Hey Bay Area fashionistas, come out to Neiman Marcus in Walnut Creek on Wednesday, May 15th from 1-3pm to meet Neiman Marcus' Fashion Director for Accessories, AnaMaria Pimentel, in person.  She will be there to answer all of your questions about what accessories are so right now for Spring/Summer, but also what she has seen at all of the fashion shows for Fall!

AnaMaria Pimentel began her career in fashion as an intern at Elle magazine under the mentorship of then-editor Nina Garcia, who Pimentel considers her role model to this day.  She worked her way up to Senior Accessories Editor, later crossing over to media relations for Van Cleef & Arpels.  She then traversed back to the editorial space, landing a job at Harper's Bazaar as Accessories Director, before joining Neiman Marcus in March 2012, where she hones trends into stylish, wearable looks for customers.

Who will be there?

Cheers to the Weekend

(Jacket & top from StitchFix, Lucas Jack Earrings & Ted Rossi Bracelet from RocksboxCole Haan Booties (similar here and here), clutch from Florence, Italy)

Cheers!  A little late to get this out, but better late than never!  This has been a very busy week and I'm so glad that the weekend is here.  The weekend is packed as well, but it makes it so much easier when I have Carlos by my side to take it head on.

I took this picture at the Neiman Marcus Spring Trend preview event at the Rotunda Room this week.  It gives you a glimpse an update on my New Years Resolutions!  I've lost 20 pounds for project lose baby weight and I'm starting to really feel it.  I'm feeling great and happy that I'm more than half way to my goal.  I've been trying to be consistent about hitting the gym at least three times a week, juicing and eating a lot of whole foods (less processedhigher in protein and lowering my carb intake) and it's been working pretty well!  Hopefully just another 1.5 to 2 months until I hit my goal!

I had a fabulous time on Monday when I received a cooking lesson by Kitchit over at Erin's loft.  It was for a fun and delicious Valentines Day Dinner idea with Caitlin and Courtney.  Be sure to check out Erin's post on it and I will hopefully have some more pictures to share with you as well from the lesson.  This was the second time ever that I tried oysters (I know....I live so close to Tomales Bay, how can I not like oysters) and I actually liked them with mignonette sauce!

Last night Carlos and I snuck in a little date night at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, Frascati, followed by cocktails at La Folie Lounge.  Today is filled with a ballet lesson, trip to the farmer's market, visiting a friends new house and a birthday party.  Tomorrow I'm hopefully getting a trip to the gym in and then following it with a brunch with some fabulous ladies!

What are you up to this weekend?

Cheers,

Save it for a Rainy Day

Rainy Day

1/2/3/4/5

We have had so much rain this Winter that I feel like the rainy season has already come and gone.  But oh no, it is on it's way this Spring!  Make sure you are prepared to brave the rain in style!

Runway to Reality - Badgley & Mischka

Linsey bought the ruffled metallic cocktail dress "off the runway".
Last weekend I had the honor of attending the Badgley Mischka fashion show and cocktail party at Neiman Marcus in Walnut Creek with two of my girlfriends!  I was able to meet and chat Mark & James after the show (more pictures from the fashion show to come).

In the meantime I wanted to share one of their fabulous dresses from their Mark & James collection (their collection designed for a younger sophisticated customer at a more affordable price point).

My bestie, Linsey, ended up trying on this dress after the fashion show and it looked amazing on her.  It was definitely one of the favorite cocktail dresses of the night since nine out of ten of the dresses in stock were sold after the event!  I told Linsey now we have to go somewhere fabulous over the holidays so she can rock her cocktail dress!

Do you have a favorite designer that you turn to when you need a cocktail dress for a fun event?
