Tasty Treats - Kitchit

Last month, Erin invited me over to her loft for a fun cooking class with Kitchit.  For those of you who don't know, Kitchit allows you to choose a local chef from your area (Bay Area, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York currently) and then choose your dining experience.  You can choose a cooking lesson, dinner party or cocktail party and then work with the chef to customize it to your taste.  They do all the shopping, prep work, cooking and they even clean up!

At Erin's loft, Erin, Courtney, Caitlin and I received a cooking lesson for a romantic dinner that you could cook at home for a loved one.  Chef Jed Cote showed us everything from how to shuck an oyster to how to make our very own mozzarella.  The food and the company was amazing!  I highly recommend Kitchit to anyone wanting to plan a fun dinner party or wanting to learn some new recipes for their cooking arsenal!

Le Diner a San Francisco

Have you heard about the pop up dinners around the world where hundreds to a thousand people gather all dressed in white to enjoy a festive evening full of food, wine, dancing, friends and WHITE?  One of these dinner parties is tomorrow night in San Francisco.  An hour before the event Le Diner a San Francisco will reveal the secret outdoor location to the participants.  Last year's event was in Golden Gate Park in between the DeYoung and the California Academy of Sciences.  Besides the other thousand people that will be there, I will be joining Becca, Michele and Caryl!  Thank you for including me ladies!  

Even though I have yet  to decide what my all white ensemble will be, I'm looking forward to this event, especially since the weather has been gorgeous in San Francisco this week (it was 74 degrees at 9:30am this morning on the Golden Gate Bridge).  I will be bringing my camera tomorrow night and can't wait to share pictures from what should be a beautiful evening!

Rolling into the Weekend

Happy Friday!  I'm so glad that it's the weekend!  It's always hard coming off of a vacation where we get to spend a lot of quality time with Carlos aka Daddy and then we have to go back to reality as he goes back to work.

This weekend, I have friends coming over for dinner, a photoshoot and to top it all off, we are heading to a six year old birthday party at a roller rink!  That's right....I said a roller rink!  When was the last time I went skating you ask?  It was probably 20 years ago!  This should be an interesting experiment to see if I can still be stable on skates while teaching my little ones how to use them.  Wish me luck!

Tasty Treats: Apple, Ginger & Cranberry Vodka Cocktail

I saw these beautiful images taken by the fabulous food photographer, Katie Quinn Davies, and thought they would be the perfect 4th of July cocktail!  For the 4th, we are headed to Stinson Beach for some fun beach time (hopefully minus the fog) with friends and then back to our house for a little BBQ and pool time!  How will you be celebrating?

Harper's Bazaar Book Signing

Last week I joined Jeanne, Erin, Kim and Adelle at Glenda Bailey's book signing of her new coffee table book, Harper's Bazaar Greatest Hits - A Decade of Style, at the Coach store.

There was quite the San Francisco crowd in attendance including two San Francisco icons! 

The book is filled with over 300 pictures of gorgeous covers and stunning layouts to satisfy anyone needing a fashion fix. This was the first time I have ever had a book signed by the author and I have to say that Glenda was so charming in person.  She took the time to chat a bit with each person and to write a little something inside of the book rather than just signing my name and her name.  

It was a fabulous event put on by Harper's Bazaar and Coach!  

Rue Anniversary Party Preview

Just a preview of our photobooth photos from the Rue Magazine Anniversary party last night.  I only took my iPhone with me, so I will post those pictures later along with a couple that Krista from City Chic took as well and tell you how the evening was (FABULOUS).

Landon's Birthday Party - 4Cats Art Studio

We had Landon's fourth birthday party at 4Cats Art Studio in Potrero Hill. We have held Landon's birthday parties at our house, at a playground and at SF Gymnastics for the previous years. We wanted to do something different and after searching the Golden Gate Mothers Group (an amazing resource for San Francisco moms) website for party ideas, I found a link for 4Cats Art Studio.  It is this adorable art studio that teaches all kinds of art classes, painting and clay, to kids of all ages. We did their Clay Dragon Party - which includes a teacher teaching the kids to make a clay dragon and then they get to paint a dragon on a canvas. I was a little worried about the age of the kids 2-4 years old being able to make the clay dragons, but the teacher took them step by step through the process giving them the separate pieces of clay. She did such an amazing job with them! While the big kids did their two art projects, the littles played with pastels and paper at the front table. After the kids work on their art projects for an  hour, you have 45 minutes to have a party on the front table. I would highly recommend 4Cats Art Studio to anyone looking for a different party for their kids! We had such a wonderful time and I still can't believe that my baby boy is four years old!
