I first discovered Rivet & Sway, an eyewear company designed specifically for women, when I attended Alt Summit in San Francisco and met Emily from their team.   She let me have a sneak peek at their designs that they did in collaboration with Erin Loechner of Design for Mankind.  

Rivet & Sway have a try-on service for home, where you pick five pairs to try-on at home and then send them all back after you pick your favorite pair.   They also recently reduced their pricing to be more competitive with other eyewear companies. Your first pair of prescription glasses are $169 and each additional pair that are ordered at the same time are $99.  I loved all the different shapes and color combinations that they offer.

Now I need your help in ordering my first pair from Rivet & Sway!  Which pair do you like best on me?

Warby Parker Summer Collection

Okay everyone, I need your help!  When I saw that Warby Parker came out with a new Summer Collection, I thought it might be time to update my glasses.  Since they are only $95 a pair including your prescription, plus one pair goes to charity for every pair purchased, I thought why not!  I need your opinion of course before I send back the five pairs they sent me to try-on at  home.  What do you think?  Which one should I choose?

Warby Parker - School is in Session

A couple of weeks ago, Warby Parker, drove their school bus into town in San Francisco and threw a welcome party at the Conservatory of Flowers.  As a BIG fan of Warby Parker, I had to attend this event to see the school bus in person! Warby's process of trying out five pairs of glasses at home has always worked really well for me, but I thought that having all of the choices right in front of me on the bus would be great way to choose my next pair!  

Warby Parker will be in San Francisco through May 12th.

Things are Getting Shady!

Thank you for all of your advice on my Warby Parker sunglasses choices!  I went with Evelyn in Whiskey Tortoise. They just arrived today and I'm loving them!  I still think that I might need to get the Jules as well!!

Warby Parker - Gotta Wear Shades

I am SO EXCITED that Warby Parker is now making their sunglasses with prescription polarized lenses!!  I just received my five home try-on pairs of sunglasses, so I need your help.  Which one or two do you like? At $150 a pair including the prescription lenses, I might need to get two pairs.  Much better than the normal $300-$400 I have paid in the past for prescription sunglasses. 

I need to send them back this weekend, so I need to make a choice - what do you think?

Warby Parker - Part Deux

I wanted to follow up about my Warby Parker post with you guys and share my final choice choices!  I was having the hardest time deciding on one pair (your opinions on the blog and twitter really did help), so I decided to get two pairs!  At $95 a pair, two pairs is still cheaper than what I would normally pay for one pair at any other brick & mortar shop.  Plus, that means that Warby Parker donated TWO pairs of glasses to two people in need.   

I went with the Sinclair in Midnight Blue and the Pierce in Oakwood Brown.  The process was so simple.  I just returned my five trial pairs, went online and chose the two pairs of frames that I wanted, entered my information, took a photo of my prescription with my cell phone and then emailed that to Warby Parker.  The glasses were made and shipped out to me a couple of days after I ordered them! Color me impressed!  I did have to get the Sinclair pair adjusted because they didn't fit me exactly right.  But WP's customer service was so helpful - told me that most eyeglass shops will adjust them for free, but if they didn't, just to keep the receipt, send a copy of it in to WP and they would reimburse me for the adjustment cost. Very nice!  

Thank you again for all of you help choosing.  It was so fun to get everyone's opinion!  What do you guys think? 

I know that the blog has been heavy on the ALT Summit posts, but I am hoping to do one more wrap up post about my individual sessions and share some of my great tips I learned while I was there.  Then hopefully we will be back to our regular programming!  I have so many restaurants that I need to catch up on and share with you and a couple of trips too!

 

Warby Parker

I have been more than thrilled with the ease of the Warby Parker experience!  It's as easy as going online and choosing five frames that you would like to have sent to your home (two day shipping) to try on.  You have five days to decide on a frame and then you order them online and return the sample frames (with an enclosed return postage).  The best part of Warby Parker is that all frames are $95 including your prescription AND they donate a pair to a person in need for every pair ordered!  They even have non-prescription sunglasses too!  I ordered five pairs for me to try on and five pairs for Carlos too.  Now...the only dilemma I have his which pair to choose.  Okay hipsters, which pair do you guys like best?
